Learning to Live Again, Pinterest Board on Setting

The soft launch for Learning to Live Again went well, and I'm told it did well in the Amazon rankings on its opening day. I've been posting photos of the story setting on my author page, and I set up a Pinterest board as well.

Follow Kimberli's board Learning To Live Again Settings on Pinterest.

Initial comments on the story have been positive, and I'm excited Vicky and Clay can now tell their story. I have more promotional work to do, and then I'll start revising the sequel, River of Life

Learning to Live Again, available for Kindle

A year after a botched carjacking turned her into a widow at the age of twenty-five, Vicky meets a former police officer with connections to the crime that wrecked lives and sent her into hiding. She not only learns the fate of the officer injured in the attack, she has support from the only person who can understand what she suffered and lost that fateful night.

Clay Waters faces an uncertain future after his wife takes an extended vacation from their marriage. Unwilling to risk leaving their son without a parent, he quits his job at the police department. A decision that leaves him feeling useless until he meets the petite recluse who barely survived a face-off with a murderer.

Vicky gives Clay the sense of purpose he wants, and he provides her with protection she needs as she gradually expands her world and renews a faith she once tossed aside for a man. But when friendship turns to love, will the faith that's helping them heal now keep them apart?

Learning to Live Again Released!

It's up! It's up! My debut novel, Learning to Live Again is available on Amazon for Kindle! I'm thrilled these characters finally have a chance to tell their story. More than a novel, more than a romance, it's the story of a woman struggling to rediscover her faith in the midst of fear and her love for a man who may not be available. In my next post, I'll talk about Vicky Morgan's journey, both as a victim of crime and as a victim of her own spiritual misunderstanding. Until then, here's the blurb and the link:

Some women have to forgive their husbands for being unfaithful. Vicky Morgan has to forgive hers for dying.

Upcoming Release: Learning to Live Again

If you landed here via my Facebook author page, you'll notice I haven't blogged in some time. I've been hard at work polishing my debut novel, Learning to Live Again, and rewriting its sequel, River of Life. The former will be released any day now, so I'm back to blogging about what I call my Front Porch Fiction.

In upcoming posts, I'll cover the settings used in the novel, such as Looking Glass Falls, shown at right, along with the characters' personal and spiritual journeys. I'm looking forward to sharing what is the novel of my heart and hope you'll join me here at Front Porch Fiction, and on my author page at www.facebook.com/kimberlimckay
